Well, this
week’s meditation exercise was interesting. I was able to focus better and
relax my body and quiet my mind; however the different rainbow colors we were
ask to imagine…I just wasn’t able to do it.
I’ve never been able to imagine or see colors when I close my eyes, it’s
very difficult for me. Am I the only
one? As I thought about this after the exercise, I realized that I do not
remember if my dreams have ever been in color. Is not being able to imagine the
colors significant in any way? I’m open to any suggestions or insights!
Okay, so this week we have a few questions to
answer on the blog. I would rate my
physical well-being as 6, though I have serious medical issues, I think I’m
definitely better than a 5. For
spiritual and psychological well-being, I would rate myself 6.5 because I’m not
as bad as I was a few years back and have grown in both aspects considerably
since then. My goal in each of these areas
is to reach as close as possible to a 10…not just for myself but for my family.
I feel that the best activity that I’ve
implemented in my life to help me attain that goal is my workout sessions with
my trainer; after the workouts I feel so refreshed and energized. If I’m
feeling down or just a little off, it actually makes me feel a whole lot better…the
endorphins really work! Since I started this class, I have been taking the time
out each day to meditate…20 minutes every night. It helps me to clear my mind
and see what is real and what is perceived.
Hi Manisha,
ReplyDeleteThat is great that you have a trainer to help you with your workouts. I had a trainer for two years and I really learned a lot and transformed my body in way I could have not done on my own. The motivation and push to do one more really helps! I am always trying to change up my workout routine so I Will not get bored such as kayaking one day and biking another day. My daily meditation consists of a walk in nature. I enjoy the stillness and sounds of nature it helps me to reflect. It takes practice to visualize, there are many CD's out there that can assist you, try googling exactly what you want. Lisa
Hi Lisa,
DeleteI definitely need to motivation and push that my personal trainer provides...I've been always active but never pushed my limits. My trainer pushes me where I have actually seen a change in my body but also my I energy level. I tried kayaking first time this past summer...and I loved it! It was relaxing and enjoyed that alone time with just the sound of the water.
I will continue to practice...I know it takes time and hopefully will be able to visualize and quiet my mind to attain the inner balance I want.
I think you are off to a great start! Endorphins are definitely something that I absolutely love :) I had my boyfriend do the exercise as well. He was not able to visualize the colors and had a hard time concentrating, so trust me you are not the only one. I think it really has to do with the various chemistry of one's brain. We are all roadmaps and various turns and directions will lead us in different directions.
ReplyDeleteHi Manisha,
ReplyDeleteI am reading posts as I find them. I don't know how this blog things work as I am still trying to figure it out. I found you post interesting and at one time in the recent past I had a trainer and thought him to be very good for me. However the facility closed and I lost touch. I did not see the colors either nor did I feel relaxed listening to the meditation. But, I will continue the process because I believe there is more good to gain. If you get a chance, read my post and let's share blogs.
Dru
Hi Dru,
DeleteI tried the exercise a few times...I never was able to visualize the colors but was able to calm my mind and relax my body. I guess it takes practice...and I will continue to meditate...even after this class ends ;)
